Numbering 50,000 Ghaf trees for the National Day

Dr. Saif Muhammad Al Ghais, Director-General of the Environment Protection and Development Authority in Ras Al Khaimah, revealed that the authority launched an initiative to number 50,000 "ghaf" trees to complete the planting of Zayed in the various regions and locations of the emirate.
Al-Ghais stated that the initiative comes in conjunction with the country's celebrations of its fiftieth National Day on the second of next December, by inviting the people of the country to participate in the activities of this environmental initiative.
In his interview with Al-Ittihad, he said: "The authority always seeks to achieve diversity in natural resources by preserving and increasing the green area in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, especially those concerned with local trees, including the Ghaf tree, which contains many important environmental benefits."
He stated that the authority, as part of its celebration of the 50th National Day of the UAE, decided to complete the initiative to number the "Ghaf" trees in various regions and locations of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, which it started a year ago.
He added: "The initiative has been able to number about 6,600 trees so far, which started in Al Kharran, one of the regions of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, which witnesses the abundance of this type of trees, and the goal of completing the initiative is to reach the numbering of 50,000 of those trees during the fiftieth year of the UAE." ».
He stated that the initiative will work to proceed with the numbering of trees according to the plans previously laid out on the Ras Al Khaimah map, which divides the areas into different lines through which it is possible to infer the sites through which the volunteer work teams will pass to begin the process of monitoring all trees according to the approved drawing.
He pointed out that the initiative launched by the authority yesterday by publishing the initiative's poster on its various channels, will bring the participation of the people of the country who wish to volunteer within the authority's initiative by working to fill out the participation form that was placed on the authority's official channels and websites, by mentioning the participant's name and contact numbers. Then work will be done to re-communicate with them through the Authority's Awareness Department.
He pointed out that the Awareness Department will work to familiarize volunteers wishing to participate in the initiative about the work mechanism, which is to identify the areas to be started and then the process of numbering the trees, where participation certificates will be distributed by the authority to those wishing to volunteer after completing an average of 3 credit hours. .
He indicated that the authority is seeking, after this initiative, which will come with the participation of volunteers from different members of society, towards completing the process of numbering those trees to reach the desired number, through the efforts of the employees working in the authority, with the aim of numbering these trees, working to protect them from any violations, and working on Make the most of its various environmental benefits.
He stated that this initiative will work through the authority, in cooperation with the Ras Al Khaimah Municipality Department, towards placing it on the approved map of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah to determine its location in the emirate, due to its importance and the call for its preservation.

Saif Muhammad Al-Ghais pointed out that the numbering of the "Ghaf" tree is done by locating the trees, then working on installing a metal plate with the number of the tree, which comes at a height of about one and a half meters, and then working on putting the latest update on the map for those observed trees. He stressed that the initiative concerned with protecting and numbering Ghaf trees comes within the framework of reducing the repercussions of climate change, improving the country's climatic environment, raising awareness of the importance of preserving local trees, and adhering to the highest standards of sustainability to build a better future for future generations.
